Background

A Senior Technology Architect will be assisting our client in the institution of an Enterprise Architecture program that complies and supports their directive.

Technical Criteria

Must have a minimum ten (10) years of experience in the last twenty (20) years gathering, defining, and analyzing business requirements and developing technical requirements.

Must have a minimum ten (10) years of experience in the last twenty 20 years developing technical strategies and architectures to meet business and technical functional requirements.

Must hold a Master’s degree in a Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Mathematics from a recognized University.

Must have a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in the last twenty (20) years as a technical architect supporting a federal government IT system with at least 5,000 active users.

Must have a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in the last twenty (20) years directly working with and evaluating solutions provided by, IM/IT solution providers, such as industry, contractors or various IT support organizations in each of the following activities:

• Engaging with solution providers;
• Outlining Technical requirements to solution providers;
• Conducting options analysis for multiple viable solutions; and
• Analyzing technical architectures to ensure solution compatibility.

Must have a valid Government of Canada Secret Clearance.

Should have experience within the last ten (10) years in (1) one, (2) two or all (3) three of the activities listed:

• Evaluating existing procedures;
• Defining and documenting existing application processes, interfaces, and input/output sources; or
• Identifying and documenting existing technologies.

Should have at least one of the following valid certification(s):

• Cisco Certified Network Professional;
• Cisco Certified Network Associate;
• Microsoft Certified System Engineer; and/or
• Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation Certificate.

Should have worked on different projects conducting “Technology Architect Activities” for IM/IT projects with a minimum value of $2M, with a direct focus on IM/IT support. These activities include, but are not limited to:

• Develop technical architectures, frameworks and strategies, either for an organization or for a major application area, to meet the business and application requirements;
• Analyze and evaluate alternative technology solutions to meet business problems;
• Monitor industry trends to ensure that solutions fit with government and industry directions for technology; and/or
• Review application and program design or technical infrastructure design to ensure adherence to standards and to recommend performance improvements.

Should have experience with Qualiware, as demonstrated by having worked in projects with a minimum value of $2M that used Qualiware software.

Should have extensive experience following Enterprise Architecture framework methodologies and practices, as demonstrated by the number of projects (minimum value of $2M), where the resource was on the project for at least six (6) consecutive months.

Tasks

• Support client’s compliance with the enterprise architecture program by:
  • Ensuring correctness and completeness of all enterprise architecture deliverables;
  • Ensuring enterprise architecture deliverables are integrated in the client’s enterprise architecture repository; and
  • Maintaining open lines of communications with the client’s Subject Matter Experts and authorities responsible for the administration of the enterprise architecture program.

• Support the Design production, advancement, and delivery of the client’s capability by:
  • Identifying, researching, and resolving complex technical problems related to design, prototype, testing, and production;
  • Recommend new products or processes which support and enhance the user groups’ business activities;
  • Reviewing of and commenting on Contract Deliverables received from the project’s Integration Contractor; and
  • Participating in discussions, and meetings as and when required, recording minutes when asked.
