Background

A Senior Business Consultant will provide support and expertise in the recognition and measurement of the clients in the Department. The contractor will provide advice and guidance to the Client’s team on the Department’s assessment and application of the client’s accounting standard.

 

Technical Criteria

Must have attained the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) designation.

Must have a minimum 8 years of experience in the last 10 years providing advice regarding asset accounting in public sector accounting.

Must be able to provide at least three examples of projects (that have lasted for over 6 months) having provided advice related to capital asset accounting; assessment of amortization methods; and assessment of remaining useful lives of tangible capital assets in a Federal or Provincial Government Department which have been undertaken in the last 5 years.

Must have a valid Government of Canada Reliability Clearance.

Should have expertise in the last 5 years in Capital Asset Accounting within an organization having capital assets with a minimum net book value of $100M, having experience in reviewing, assessing and investigating Tangible Capital Assets for existence and obsolescence determination.
