Background

A Senior Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) Specialist will be assisting our client with the processing of access to information and privacy requests.

Technical Criteria

Must have the following:

• A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience as an .
• A secondary school diploma.

Must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience within the last five (5) years, reviewing Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) files that deal with immigration, citizenship, passport, national security, enforcement, and investigation files.

Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years analyzing and processing and responding to complex and sensitive ATIP requests, including interpreting, identifying and analyzing ATIP trends under both the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience analyzing and processing Access to Information and Privacy files within the last five (5) years, using the Global Case Management Software (GCMS) and Access Pro Case Management (APCM).

Must have a valid Government of Canada Secret Clearance.

Tasks to be performed:

• Ensure the timely processing of a series of Access to Information and Privacy requests;
• Provide recommendations and advice regarding the exemption of sensitive information;
• Conduct and coordinate consultation with other federal departments, agencies, other levels of government and third parties;
• Conduct quality assurance of the Access to Information and Privacy files;
• Analyze, process, research and prepare responses to sensitive ATIP requests;
• Conduct quality control on proposed release packages;
• Approve files.
• Be able to conduct research in the Global Case Management System (GCMS);
• Sound ability to use Access Pro Case Management.
