Description:
Background
An Intermediate Geomatics Specialist is to support the development component. This component will define and create the geospatial products and services to be provided by the client in support of the requirements of the project.
Technical Criteria
Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the past eight (8) years working as a Geographic Information Systems analyst.
Must have three (3) years of experience in the past five (5) years using ESRI ArcGIS 10.3 or higher.
Must have three (3) years of experience in the past five (5) years in data schema mapping, data conditioning, and format conversion using tools such as FME, ESRI Data Interoperability, or Python scripting.
Must have three (3) years of experience in the past five (5) years working with the following specific aeronautical data: DAFIF, AAFIF, DVOF, and VNCs.
Must have three (3) years of experience in the past five (5) years in conceiving, implementing, and documenting GIS data workflows and geoprocessing models.
Must have a valid Government of Canada Secret Clearance.
Should have a minimum of six (6) months experience working with the EuroAvionics Map Conversion Suite software application in the past three (3) years.
Should have a minimum of six (6) months experience working with the Envitia MAPLINK Pro software application in the past three (3) years.
Should have a minimum of six (6) months of experience in producing digital aeronautical charting products for use in either military or search and rescue aircraft systems.
Should have a minimum of 5 years working as a Geographic Information Systems analyst.
Tasks to be performed:
- Analyzes functional requirements to identify informational needs and to develop production procedures and decision flows;
- Create and process geospatial raster, vector, and elevation data for analysis and output products to meet project objectives;
- Conceive, develop and implement vector data models to support analysis and product generation;
- Create geo databases to store, retrieve, and process geospatial vector data;
- Perform data schema mapping using appropriate schema mapping tools;
- Restructure data from various sources and diverse formats and incorporate them into production workflows;
- Create and document production workflows and processes to produce required output products;
- Create and update geospatial metadata;
- Perform GIS and cartographic production and quality management processes;
- Provide advice and technical support;
- Design and test functional prototypes of required output products; and
- Create, update, and maintain documents outlining procedures and standards.
